It is also the beginning of the off season, so there are less people to compete with for catches. Best Times of Year to Travel to the Exumas and Exuma Bonefishing
Are you interested in traveling to the Exumas, but not sure when you should travel there? Lucky for you, temperatures are warm all year long. It is up to you what time of year you would like to travel depending on the several factors outlined below. No matter what, temperatures are great and the water is crystal clear all year long. Learn more about the weather in the area, off season information, and Exuma bonefishing and other activities to get on your calendar for your trip.

Weather

Throughout the year, usually when traveling to the Exumas, temperatures will be in the 80s. For the summer months (June, July, and August), temperatures creep up into the 90s. Then for the fall and winter, temperatures dip to the lower 80s and upper 70s for the high. Evening lows tend to be in the 70s. The islands and cays that make up the Exumas tend to be humid, with levels being at their highest during the summer. May through October tend to be on the more uncomfortable side when looking at levels. For rain, there is not much rainfall in the spring, fall and winter. A majority of the rainfall in the area occurs in May through late October. You also do not have to worry about large snowfalls in this location if you decide to travel there during the winter! For a deeper dive into year-long weather, review the average weather in George Town.

Off Season and Best Time to Travel

In America, we tend to do our annual travels during the summer. However, if you are not a fan of hot, humid weather, with the risk of rain, choose to travel there between November and April. During these months, you will increase your chances of dodging clouds and rain, high humidity levels, and enjoy more consistent but warm temperatures. However, while the off season in America is the winter, for the Exumas, it is the cooler months from December through February. The area also attracts a lot of spring break travelers as well from March to June. So, if you are looking to travel at a reduced budget, you can look into traveling during the summer and just be prepared to keep cool.

Bonefishing and Other Activities

Water temperatures stay pleasant year-round, which is great if you are planning on spending time in the water at the Exumas. There are also many festivals and fun events to attend during the ends of the off season, for you to experience culture and spend time with locals. When traveling for bonefishing opportunities, you will be able to get some great catches all year long. Usually the spring and summer helps those be more successful, if you travel during the fall and winter, you will still have great catches—it might just require a little more patience.
